Texas carried out its 10th execution in 2006, last night. It's the 365 execution in the state since resumption of the death penalty. Nationally, it's the 20th execution this year, bringing the total in the country to 1,024.

Also, a new execution date has been set in the case of Derrick Sean O'Brien. Last week his execution was stayed over a lethal injection challenge, but the stay was lifted by the Court of Criminal Appeals after turning down a similar challenge.
