Texas carried out its second execution of 2007 tonight in Huntsville. It is the 381st execution in the state since 1982. It is the third execution in the nation during 2007. A total of 1,060 men and women have been executed in America since the resumption of capital punishment in 1977. Texas has carried out 36% of all the executions in America during this time period.
