Politico posts, "Sister Helen Prejean: Death penalty still ‘political game’." It's by Patrick Gavin.
If Sister Helen Prejean, author of the book “Dead Man Walking,” got a chance to spend five minutes with President Barack Obama, she would implore the president to rethink his stance on the death penalty.
“I understand now the political game of the death penalty,” Prejean told POLITICO. “He knows he wouldn’t have had a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected president if he didn’t say he was in favor of the death penalty.” (The president has said he favors the death penalty for certain “heinous crimes.”)
