ABA Meeting on Pro Bono Counsel

Again, for readers in the New York City area, I want to point to Karl Keys' latest post about an ABA event to recruit pro bono counsel in death penalty cases.  LINK

Tonight at the Helmsley Hotel in midtown the  American Bar Association & the City Bar of New York will be hosting a recruitment event for private firms to take on capital cases.  In several states there is no right to capital postconviction counsel and even where a right to counsel exists it is often meaningless.  Two years ago the Washington Post put it this way...
