The Sunday edition of the Annapolis Capital Gazette reported, "ABC News veterans tackle high court's death penalty cases," written by Theresa Winslow. Here's the beginning:
Martin Clancy and Tim O’Brien are used to be being in the hot seat.
They’ve visited prison death chambers and sat in the electric chair. “It made my blood run cold,” said Clancy, who lives in Riva.
Writing a book on capital punishment was less difficult. Time proved to be the biggest obstacle for the ABC News veterans.
Clancy and O’Brien came up the idea for the book 20 years ago, but didn’t get started until fairly recently, thanks to busy schedules. They also toiled over the theme.
Once they focused a couple years ago, progress was rapid. “Murder at the Supreme Court: Lethal Crimes and Landmark Cases” was released by Prometheus Books of Amherst, N.Y. last month.
“Behind these Supreme Court headlines are some terrific stories,” said Clancy, 70, who is retired. “It was great fun to find them, great fun to tell them and hopefully, people will find them good reading.”
