After little debate, the New Hampshire Senate has squelched a second attempt this session by opponents of the death penalty to repeal the state's capital punishment statute.
A bill stalled in the Senate on a 12-12 vote last month. The House then passed a second bill repealing capital punishment, but the Senate voted it down Thursday on a voice vote.

The state Senate has again rejected a proposal to repeal New Hampshire’s death penalty.
The first House proposal to repeal the law stalled in the Senate a month ago on a 12-12 vote.
And on a voice vote this morning, the Senate killed a second proposal from the House, which was attached as an amendment to a Senate bill.
Republican Senator Jeb Bradley said it’s time to move on.
“I would urge that we non-concur because we’ve had the debate already. We deadlocked on that debate several weeks ago.”
