Kirk Bloodsworth was the first person who had been sentenced to death and exonerated by DNA evidence. Tim Junkin's book, Bloodsworth, written with Kirk's involvement, is the harrowing tale of Kirk's journey. It was published in 2004.
Since then, Kirk has been an indefatigable fighter to expand DNA testing, an advocate for exonerees, and as exhibit one for the repeal of capital punishment.
