Prosecutors say they'll seek the death penalty against a Southeast Texas man charged with fatally shooting his neighborhood postal carrier last year.
James Wayne Ham of Coldspring is accused of the May 2013 of Marie Youngblood. Ham was arrested three days after her body was found in her burned SUV in San Jacinto County, about 50 miles northeast of Houston. She had been shot multiple times at close range with a rifle after delivering mail to Ham's home.

The United States will seek the death penalty for a man accused in the 2013 murder of a postal worker, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.
James Wayne Ham, 37, allegedly killed a mail carrier on or about May 17, 2013, as she was working to deliver the mail.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson said the mail carrier’s son called 911 after he heard two gunshots as he was speaking to his mother via cell phone.
